I sold my 30D yesterday. I’m officially cameraless until I can get my hands on a 5D, which hopefully won’t be too far away.

I guess I’ll be getting my thrills out of the 5d mkII rumour threads for a while! Interestingly I did read today that Canon Australia has unofficially discontinued the 5D which would seem about right with Photokina right around the corner. The rumours are flying thick and fast about 21mp sensors and Digic IV processors…not sure about squashing more megapixels on the sensor, but still interesting and given that the new 50D has 15mp it would seem about right.

While I was distracting myself from finishing the new site design, I rediscovered a whole bunch of awesome interior decorating websites. I used to spend a lot of time browsing these sites and promising when I had a space of my own, I’d use these ideas to make it look awesome.Well, I’ve been living on my own for a year now and what do I have to show for it…Nothing! (Maybe I should stop spending all my money on travel and camera gear.) I really want my home to be somewhere cosy and comfortable, somewhere that feels good to be in, so I think after I come back from Japan my goal will be to makeover my house.

Saucy Dwellings: I used to look at this page all time when I was *cough* on livejournal, but not so much lately. This is to remind myself to go back for some interior decorating ideas. (Although possibly cleaning ideas may be more valuable to me before I can think about decorating.)

Apartment Therapy: Plenty of cute ideas for small spaces.

DesignSponge: Omg, how have I not seen these site (and others of its ilk) earlier? I love the before and after section!

CSS Remix: Just in case I decide to repeat the torture of redesigning this site any time soon.

We Love Wordpress: After painstaking decoding the PHP I’m not entirely sure that I DO love Wordpress, but this has some damn good inspiration for future torture.

I spent quite a bit of time today redesigning the blog. It’s quite different to the old design but I really like it so far. I’m a sucker for rainbows and bright colours so this is right up my alley! I still have some work to do…the entry styles aren’t finished, the sidebar needs a bit of work, and I still have to recode all the pages and galleries (gulp) but this is pretty good for a rough draft.

Today Menzel and I cashed a bunch of dollars into yen!! (The Aussie dollar has been dropping lately, so we figured we should exchange at least some while the getting is good.) It’s so exciting holding this wad of cash but also a bit scary seeing my bank account looking so empty…sob.

It’s funny how foreign currency never feels like money till you’re over there. I’m holding about a thousand bucks worth of yen in that photo but it just feels like play money right now, haha.

**In other news, I am going to try and set myself the challenge of taking a photo each day. Even if I DO just take it with my crappy camera phone!**
